What is SES Hospedajes?

• The national guest registration system for all accommodation in Spain

  SES Hospedajes is the official guest registration system of the Spanish Ministry of Interior. All accommodation providers in Spain must submit guest details through this system within 24 hours of arrival. The obligation is set out in Royal Decree 933/2021 and applies whether you rent through a platform or accept direct bookings.

• Who must use SES Hospedajes?

  SES Hospedajes is mandatory for all accommodation providers in Spain: hotels, holiday rentals, apartments, rural houses, campsites, and more. Each property must be registered with its own credentials. Even if a booking platform handles part of your administration, the submission obligation remains with you as the host. Those who register late or incompletely risk a fine of €100 to €30,000.

• Secure handling of guest data

  Guest and booking data are stored in Trippz using encrypted connections and secure storage. Trippz is SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 certified, and only the data required for SES Hospedajes and tourist tax is sent to external systems. You can always see what was sent and when.

• What if Airbnb already handles my tourist tax in Spain?

  Airbnb collects tourist tax on your behalf in some regions of Spain. This does not cover your SES Hospedajes obligation. Guest registration must always be submitted by you as the host, regardless of which platform you use or what it handles.
